Ceci Iglesias

Cecilia “Ceci” Iglesias  currently serves as the alternate on the OC GOP’s Central Committee for State Senator Bob Huff  and was the alternate for former State Senator Mimi Walters.  Ceci Iglesias was also an appointed delegate to the California Republican Party convention by former OC GOP Chairman Scott Baugh. Ceci is also the Orange County Chair for the charter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, which will be voted on at the upcoming April Republican Party Convention. She is an active member of the Santa Ana Republican Women Federated and a mentor to the Orange County Young Republicans.

Ceci was elected to the Santa Ana Unified School District Board of Education in 2012. She has been a champion for Parents and Students rights. All of her decisions are to ensure that Students are always a priority.  Ceci advocates for transparency and accountability and Safety for all Students and Staff.

Ceci immigrated with her family to the United States and to Santa Ana three decades ago. The youngest of three children, she was born in Usulután, El Salvador and raised by her grandmother, aunts and uncles until the age of seven. In 1979, her mother brought her, along with her brother and sister, to live in the United States. She arrived in Santa Ana in November 1979 and has lived in this community since then.

Ceci is a product of Santa Ana Unified School District. She attended Diamond and Wilson Elementary, Carr Intermediate and Valley High School. In 1998, she earned an AA degree from Santa Ana College, and in 2001, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton and received a Sign Language Certificate from Santa Ana College. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and sign language.

Ceci Iglesias founded the Santa Ana Family Empowerment (S.A.F.E.), a non-profit organization, to provide homework assistance to deaf and hard-of-hearing students. She is certified in American Sign Language and has proudly tutored deaf students in Language Arts and Math.

Ceci has one son who attends Santa Ana Unified Schools.

As a Contract Administrator, she has administered programs that provide temporary assistance while empowering families to become self-sufficient and self-reliant. On April 27, 2016, Cecilia Iglesias was sworn in by Former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Marion Bergeson, as a member of the Orange County School Boards Association Board of Directors for the year 2016-2017.
